Collection: Mountains

Mountains are the beating heart of New Zealand. The Southern Alps stretch almost the entire length of the South Island and dominate the interior landscape across every region. Aotearoa translates to 'land of the long white cloud' but it could easily be land of the long white mountain peak with over 24 peaks above 3,000 metres and too many to count in total.

My heart is happiest when I'm in the mountains, a fact that is evident in just how many of my images have mountain compositions.
