The West Coast traverses an incredible distance all the way from Oparara in the north down to Haast Pass in the South. As the region with the highest rainfall in the country, it is no wonder you'll find lush green forests along the whole coastline, which is also dotted with incredible beaches with rock formations like Punakaiki and Motukiekie. 

Glacier Country is at the heart of the West Coast with plenty of vistas to visit around the Fox Glacier and Franz Josef areas. On a clear day you can travel hundreds of kilometres with views of the Southern Alps, and if you are lucky see them reflected in the perfectly calm waters of Lake Matheson.
